We are looking for a Mechatronics / Electronics Engineer to join our R&D team and bridge the gap between mechanical, electrical, and software systems in the development of micro-tubular SOFC stacks. You will design, build, and integrate test rigs, control systems, and instrumentation that enable reliable operation and data collection.

You will collaborate closely with materials scientists, electrochemists, and mechanical engineers to ensure that sensors, power electronics, and automation tools support fast iteration and robust validation of our technology.

Your tasks

  • Design and assemble electronic and mechatronic subsystems for SOFC stacks and test rig
  • Design and build custom machines and rigs for automated prototyping
  • Integrate sensors, actuators, motion systems, and control logic for consistent operation
  • Develop control systems for heaters, flows, and safety interlocks
  • Implement data acquisition and logging for process monitoring
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment to ensure reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate process needs into working hardware
  • Document wiring, schematics, CAD/eCAD, and control logic for reproducibility
  • Source and integrate components (motors, controllers, sensors, PLCs, cameras)

Your qualification

  • Vocational School, BSc or MSc in Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Hands-on experience in building and debugging electronic circuits, control systems, or mechatronic assemblies (2-5 years)
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers PLCs, DAQ systems, and basic programming (e.g., LabVIEW, Python, or similar)
  • Understanding of sensors and actuators for thermal, fluidic, or electrochemical systems
  • Experience with CAD/eCAD tools; wiring diagrams and system integration
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Comfortable working in a lab environment with prototypes and test rigs
